Day 8 : Enable Stop Protection for EC2 Instance

Welcome back to Day 8. Today, we will learn how to enable stop protection for an EC2 instance. After completing this lab, you will understand why this feature is important.

Why we need to enable stop protection?

That’s a good question. In EC2, stop protection is not enabled by default. You need to turn it on manually. Imagine your production application is running on an EC2 instance. If someone accidentally stops this instance, your application will go down. Your business will suffer many losses during this downtime. If you turn on this feature, no one can stop your instance. You can prevent accidental stops. That's why this feature should be enabled on an EC2 instance.

You can see that stop protection is disabled by default.

Congratulations you did it. It looks good. This lab was successfully completed without any errors. See you in day 9. If you have any issues please let me know I will be happy to assist you. Stay tuned and learn together. If you find my article useful, please kindly like and share it.
