Day 5 : Create GP3 Volume

Welcome back guys. I glad to see you again in Day 5. In this lab you need to create GP3 volume with datacenter-volume name. After finish this lab you will know how to create GP3 volume.

What is an AWS gp3 Volume?

A gp3 volume is an SSD-based EBS storage type designed for balanced performance and low cost.
It is commonly used for:

  • EC2 root volumes

  • Databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB)

  • Containers (ECS/EKS Pods with EBS)

  • Virtual desktops (WorkSpaces)

  • General application servers

Key Features of gp3

1. Baseline performance (independent of volume size!)

  • 3,000 IOPS default

  • 125 MB/s throughput default

2. Scalable performance

You can scale up to:

  • 16,000 IOPS maximum

  • 1,000 MB/s throughput maximum

Congratulations you did it. It looks good. This lab was successfully completed without any errors. See you in day 6. If you have any issues please let me know I will be happy to assist you. Stay tuned and learn together. If you find my article useful, please kindly like and share it.
